  • Does not speak one word by 16 months
  • Does not combine two words by 2 years
  • Does not respond to name
  • Loses language or social skills

 

Some Other Indicators

  • Poor eye contact
  • Doesn't seem to know how to play with toys
  • Excessively lines up toys or other objects
  • Is attached to one particular toy or object
  • Doesn't smile
  • At times seems to be hearing impaired

Color purple is my own private circle. Mr. Snell! I talk about school.
Hello, Mrs. Merulla. I do not jump on people. I could hurt someone.
My work Hello, Mr. Kielb, Ms. Verzini, Mr. Pineda
My blue hug circle is for Mom, Dad, Grandparents, and when I am older my girlfriend too. Orange circle: I wave to other people. I don't talk to them when they are busy.
Father & Mother Jeremy and Pablo are busy. Wave.
I can hug my Mom & my Dad The children are busy. Wave!
I can talk to Mom & Dad The teachers are busy. I do not talk to them, now.
I can tell them anything Red Stranger Space. Red is not in my circle.
Grandfather & Grandmother I don't know these people. You can say stop and walk away.
I can trust them Not know. I walk away!
I can give green hug to best friends, special teacher, relatives on special occasions. I don't trust strangers. I don't let strangers touch me. I don't touch strangers either.
